Jari Kirkland

About: Jari spends most on her time in Crested Butte, Colorado skiing for the U.S. Ski Mountaineering Team as well as Team Go/Crested Butte. She is also a professional mountain biker, x-terra triathlete and adventure racer. This year, she started off her mountain bike season at the 24 hours of Old Pueblo, an all-day, all-night mountain bike race that she competed in solo and won.

Kudos: So far for 2014, Jari has placed 1st in the teams race at the National Ski Mountaineering Championships, 3rd overall at the North American Championships and 1st at the Elk Mountain Grand Traverse, a 42 mile back country ski race from Crested Butte to Aspen starting at midnight.

Jari has also: placed 1st in the 12 hours of Mesa Verde Mountain Bike Race for 2013, 2011 and 2010; placed 2nd in the 2013 and 2012 Original Growler, a 64 mile mountain bike race in Gunnison, Colorado; placed 1st with Team Adidas in the 2013 World Series Adventure Race in Argentina; placed 3rd in the Costa Rica 2013 World Championships Adventure Race and 5th in the Tasmania 2011 World Championships Adventure Race; placed 1st and set a course record for the 2013 Vapor Trail 125 mile mountain bike race; placed 5th overall in the 2013 Leadville 100 mountain bike race; placed 14th overall in the 2011 and 2012 Coeur d’Alene Ironman; is a two-time 24 hour mountain bike National Champion and holds the world record for the longest distance ridden by a woman in 24 hours.
