About: Moving to Vermont in his mid 20’s, Erik found a home he loved – naturally beautiful, with a hard-working, independent, yet laid back spirit. He also found the sport of running – he is now an ultramarathon runner. Part-outdoor athlete, part-Web developer and entrepreneur, he has found that all of his passions fit surprisingly well into the Northern Vermont culture.
Kudos: Erik began dedicating himself to endurance running and has racked up top New England Ultra and trail running finishes. Notably, he earned himself a place on the Men’s Overall podium at the Vermont 50K. As for Erik’s life experiments and software projects, he has been featured in everything from Lifehacker to NPR to ABC News. Erik says the highlight of his year was being retweeted by Tim Ferriss while sleeping in a van during his training for the Vermont 50 in Jackson Hole.
On the Socks: Erik has run about every race in his Darn Toughs. The first pair he owned, he ran in every week for four years! From his first 10K three years ago to the Vermont 50 he ran this year, Erik loves to make sure his socks are just as tough as he is.
