The Tommy V Challenge

Darn Tough Vermont is proud to be a sponsor of the second annual Tommy V Challenge, a fundraising event to be held on May 13th, in honor of fallen Navy SEALs. Darn Tough has a history of working with the military, which issues Darn Tough socks to soldiers in special units in the US Army, Airforce, and Navy.

Adam Brown, US Navy SEAL, killed in action in Afghanistan on March 17, 2010

This year’s event memorializes Adam Brown, a SEAL who was killed in action in Afghanistan on March 17th, 2010. It will take place at the Naval Air Station in Virginia Beach, VA.

The event is named after the late Thomas J Valentine, who served with distinction in the SEALs for 18 years, and died in training in 2008. “Tommy V” was greatly admired for his excellence as a leader, and he was awarded multiple honors, including a Silver Star and several Bronze Stars over his the course of his career.

In the wake of Tommy’s death, his wife Christina Valentine founded the Thomas J Valentine Memorial Fund and hosted the first annual Tommy V event to raise money for other Navy SEAL families who experienced the loss of a loved one.

At this year’ event, registered guests will compete in shooting and golfing events, and all proceeds go to the Thomas J Valentine Fund.  Anyone who is interested in registering or donating to the fund may do so online at www.TommyV.us.
