Tough Choice

May is one of those months where there’s so much to do that it is hard to make up your mind. If you hike or Climb, here are two of your best bets for fun and excitement.

New River, WV- New River Rondezvous, May 16th-18th. The Rendezvous is the annual fundraising gig for the New River Alliance of Climbers NRAC. It’s a fun and friendly three-day celebration of climbers, climbing and the New River Gorge. Gather with friends, relax, compete, play, laugh and climb here in the laid back atmosphere of Southern West Virginia–America’s best kept secret! Also, While you’re there for the festival, stop by Water Stone Outdoors for all your gear needs. Darn Tough Vermont is proud to sponsor the…KID ZONE!!!
The Rondezvous is celebrating it’s 6th anniversary by spreadin’ the love even further! This year the kids will have their own KIDZONE area! There will be a schedule of fun activities, competitions, and volunteer opportunities for kids ages 6 and up. Darn Tough Vermont will be donating lots of socks and the kids will be in charge of giving them out. Be advised, grownups, you will have to do whatever the kids say to get a pair. Be ready for karaoke or silly tricks or… who knows what!
Damascus, VA- Appalachian Trail Days May 16th – 18th. Trail Days celebrates the Appalachian Trail, the hikers, former hikers, and aspiring hikers who converge there each year.

There will be music, children’s games, an unusual parade, a hikers’ talent show, people-watching, bike ri des, hikes, workshops, lots of food, and other family-friendly activities… only to name a few. This makes Trail Days one of the most popular small-town events in the State of Virginia! While you’re there stop by Mt Rogers Outfittters for the best pack fitting.
